On this first day of fall, we finished up a simple but time-consuming fall craft: felted acorns. After searching for acorn caps, felting some roving I had hanging around, and assembling everything, this little project took us nearly a week to make. We finished them just last night--Fall Eve.
Today we played outside nearly all day. Vivvie (as she now calls herself) took Gray Cat for a walk this morning and sang him lullabies all the way down the driveway. Seamus caught his first snake today, a Common Garter Snake, and learned the proper way to hold it. My heart was pounding the whole time, but no harm came to either of them. When I wasn't outside, I spent the rest of the day grading papers and baking molasses cookies and cornbread. Hello fall!
What did you do on this first day of fall?
