This summer marked Seamus's first JCPL Summer Reading Program. In June, T and I pledged to read 100 books to Seamus by the end of July. Last week we exceeded that goal. Seamus "read" 101 books this summer! This does not include the repeated readings of Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See?and I Love My Mommy Because. Reading has become Seamus's favorite past-time. Sometimes the only way to change his diaper is to hand him a book. His favorite books are those that fit neatly into his tiny hands.
Although, Seamus wasn't quite old enough this year to enjoy the fabulous children's programming that goes along with our library's Summer Reading, he did enjoy Safari Greg and Doug Berky, an amazing mime. After the Safari Greg show, Seamus got to pet his very first Burmese Python.

Last weekend T and I took Seamus on a bike ride around Elizabethton. With T's bike now repaired and Seamus's new bike seat mounted and ready (not to mention the fact that I have a new bicycle), we were anxious to hit the trail. Seamus hates wearing a helmet, but once we start pedaling he forgets all about it. We biked around the Watauga River, and then we headed downtown to the covered bridge.
